Mary Katherine “MK” Morris
MK Morris
Background
MK (she/her) is a psychotherapist, a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA-pending), and graduate of CAS’ Training Fellowship Program. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Spanish Language and Literature from Wake Forest University before receiving her Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. MK has experience helping adolescents and adults of varying ages, as they navigate recovery from eating disorders as well as self-esteem and identity development, neurodivergence, mood disorders, life transitions, and family systems.
Philosophy
MK believes that recognizing patterns is the first step toward recovery and that it is possible for everyone to experience the joy that comes with freedom from an eating disorder. Her passion is helping clients find that joy, guiding them to discover their strength, and supporting them in facing transitions with effective coping strategies.
MK’s clinical orientation is grounded in an integrative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed treatment philosophy. She strives to establish a safe, accepting, and empowering therapeutic space in collaboration with her clients. Modalities that she incorporates most frequently are dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychodynamic approaches, and IFS-informed parts work.
Joy
In her spare time, MK enjoys playing music, writing, spending time outside, and connecting with loved ones.
